PE & Sport

DSCF3202

The government has provided additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport - will be allocated to primary school Headteachers.

Schools are permitted to spend the allocated funding however they see fit and must be accountable for it's impact.

This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of new PE and sport in schools.

At Woodingdean Primary School we use our money to fund The Deans Sports Partnership, a collective of schools across our Deans cluster, that jointly enables us to provide high quality sports coaching for children and staff, take part in superb inter-school competitions, develop sports leadership programmes and collaborate with other schools to offer the best.

Mr Darren Hambrook co-ordinates The Deans Sports Partnership and is based with us at Woodingdean.

Below is our report and evaluation of the funding.
